Here are the answers to some of the questions you might have about staying in Bluebell Cottage:

Do you offer short breaks?

Sorry we don’t offer short-breaks

What are the arrival and departure times? Can I arrive early or leave late?

You can arrive any time after 4.00pm on the first day of your stay, usually Saturday, except during Christmas and new year, which may vary. On your last morning of your holiday the cottage must be vacated no later than 10.30am.  It is not usually possible to arrive early or leave later as we need to prepare the cottage for our next guests.  If the cottage has not been used prior to your stay, it will be possible to arrive earlier; we will advise you of this prior to your arrival.

Is there free Wi-Fi?

The property is usually provided with wireless internet access for reasonable and proper personal use by guests. The cost of such reasonable use is included within the rental. 

Is smoking allowed inside the cottage?

Smoking is NOT allowed in the cottage.

Do you allow pets?

Be aware that the gardens are not secure, and so we would say that the garden is not dog friendly, Well trained dogs are accepted in Bluebell Cottage on the condition, that they are not allowed upstairs, in the downstairs bedroom or on the furniture downstairs, nor left unattended in the accommodation or especially in the garden. We ask that guests fully clean up behind any accidents that do occur in the cottage and garden. Up to two dogs are permitted at the cottage.  There is a £60 additional charge per dog per week. This is to cover any extra cleaning required. please contact the owner directly if you have any queries  

Is there an enclosed garden?

The back and side gardens of the cottage backs onto neighbouring property gardens, separated by a variety of stone and block walls. To the right, the garden is laid to lawn on a slope,  open but about 6 foot above the main road,

Where can I park?

there are two parking spaces. One on each side, of the cottage, larger one on right, but also parking on the road adjacent to  the cottage, which is not permit parking

What equipment will be included at the cottage?

Our detailed guest information sheet will be sent to you on receipt of the full balance payment.  This will detail what is provided in the cottage, but if you have any specific requirements please contact us.  All bed linen, towels, and tea towels are provided. towels are not to be used on the beach please

Will there be any further costs to pay on arrival in terms of heating etc.?

We do not charge extra for water, heating or energy.  There will be no additional costs for your stay.

The cottage sleeps up to six but can we book with an additional small child/baby?

Yes. There is adequate space for small child or baby, we do not provide a cot or mattress, if you require a high chair, please contact us to discuss

Can extra guests stay overnight?

Only the number listed on the booking may stay overnight.

Is the cottage suitable for disabled visitors?

Unfortunately the cottage may be difficult for wheelchair users.  Guests with mobility issues would be able to use the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Please call us if you would like to discuss accessibility.

Do I have to clean the cottage before I leave?

We do not want you to spend your holiday time cleaning but we do respectfully ask that you leave the cottage tidy. we would ask kindly that you leave your rubbish in bags, and place them in the appropriate nylon council rubbish seagull proof sacks outside, the rubbish collection day is on a Thursday, if these sacks “black for household food waste” are placed outside side gate to the left, for collection, And the empty sacks placed back inside the black plastic bins please.

Do you take a damage deposit?

We take a damage deposit of £300. By making a booking you agree to accept responsibility for any damage caused by you or any member of your party and you agree to pay any costs incurred as a result. We don’t mind the odd broken glass or crockery, but if you do break something, or notice damage or items missing, please let us know so that the item can be replaced before the arrival of our next guests. The cottage will be checked during changeover and you may be charged for any loss or damage found.

Who do I contact if I have a problem whilst at the cottage?

We can be contacted, by phone or e-mail,  if you have any problems whilst at the cottage. please do not wait until you are leaving to let us know your issues

Is there good public transport?

There is a bus stop a short walk from the cottage which links to Fowey, Lostwithiel and St Austell.  Par Railway Station is a 2 minute drive; there are regular trains from Par to London Paddington, via Plymouth and Exeter.  The Atlantic Coast Line runs from Par to Newquay – a 50 minute train journey through stunning countryside.

Are there shops nearby?

There is a Butchers, Village store, Fish and Chip ( Thai takeaway) shop and a Public House in Tywardreath which is a minutes’ walk away. There is a large Co-op, and Spar, in St Blazey, approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the cottage.  There is a Lidl and Tesco superstore in St Austell, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the cottage. 

We would like to bring our bikes. Do you have bike storage?

No. but the rear of the cottage is safe, we could arrange something for more secure storage,  Please let us know when you book.

Do I need travel insurance?

We recommend that you strongly consider getting travel insurance before you stay. A good policy will cover cancellation of your booking due to reasons beyond your control. Some policies even cover adverse travel and road conditions. This is worth considering, as we cannot be held liable for reasons outside of our control that prevent you from accessing the property. We also recommend your policy covers you for personal liability claims in case of accidental damage
